PROJECT
St. Nicolas Hospital
In the fall of 2024, UCARE representatives had the heartwarming opportunity to visit a Children’s Center in Korosten, Ukraine, in partnership with the organization “Good for Kids, UA.” During this visit, the children wrote touching letters to Saint Nicholas, expressing their dreams and wishes. Many shared that St. Nicholas had never visited their homes, revealing stories of abandonment, social orphanhood, and the harsh realities they face due to parental struggles with mental health or addiction.
Back in the USA, UCARE volunteers were deeply moved by these letters. Within moments, St. Nicholas' helpers sprang into action to fulfill these children's dreams. In just one week, a collection of gifts was gathered, wrapped, and shipped to Ukraine. Our dedicated friends at “Good for Kids, UA” ensured these gifts were delivered in time for the holiday season, bringing moments of joy and respite from the harsh realities of life for these young souls
This touching initiative highlights the incredible power of compassion and community. UCARE's collaboration with "Good for Kids, UA" embodies the spirit of giving, especially in challenging times. Fulfilling the children's letters to Saint Nicholas brought more than material gifts; it delivered hope, joy, and a reminder that they are cared for, even from afar. These small acts of kindness created precious moments of happiness for children facing immense hardships, demonstrating the remarkable strength of love and unity to transcend borders.
