UCARE’s Mental Health Empower Program for Young Women
Our "Mental Health Empower" program is specifically designed for young women aged 12 to 22. We focus on fostering mental health resilience, developing wellness strategies, and enhancing leadership skills— essential tools for navigating life's challenges.
Key Focus Areas
Mental Health Resilience: Building the ability to bounce back from stress and adversity.
Wellness Strategies: Creating individualized plans to maintain emotional and psychological well-being.
Addressing Trauma: Utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a proven method that encourages individuals to accept their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting against them. ACT emphasizes commitment to personal values and taking action towards a fulfilling life, despite challenges.

UCARE’s Experience and Adaptation:
UCARE's impactful and scalable approach has been pivotal in fostering resilience in Ukraine since 1997. With 72% of our participants being girls and women, our focus has intensified in light of the challenges posed by the 2022 war. We swiftly adapted our strategies to provide trauma-informed care and mental health support, equipping women and girls with essential skills and education to navigate current and future adversities.
Our programs create a safe space for participants to share their experiences, facilitating the healing process. By collaborating with local organizations and mental health professionals, we continuously refine our interventions, ensuring they align with the unique needs of our beneficiaries. Through regular evaluation, we maintain adaptability in our approach, promoting resilience and hope within communities facing ongoing challenges.

Supporting Future Psychologists:
UCARE is committed to the education of young psychologists by providing workshops and opportunities to practice their skills in real-world settings, such as during our camps and Healing Through Art classes, as a part of our scalable approach.
IMPACT STORIES
Our impact stories illustrate the tangible results of our initiatives. For instance, our scholar Mariia Tamko, after completing our Educational program and the Mental Health Empower program, volunteered as a leader at the Adaptive Camp. She later joined the Healing Through Art project as a Co-Coordinator and ultimately became its Coordinator. This is just one example of how UCARE effectively tackles the complex issue of women's empowerment.
