Olha Sumina is a passionate and dedicated project leader, currently serving as the Executive Director of UCARE charity. Olha currently lives in Toronto, Ontario, and is focused on supporting vulnerable children and women in Ukraine. Born and raised in Ukraine, she possesses a deep understanding of the socio-economic challenges facing her homeland, fueling her commitment to fostering positive change.
With a master’s degree in Finance and a robust background in international project management and economic development, Olha is well-equipped to drive impactful initiatives. She has extensive experience managing programs funded by prominent organizations, including USAID and European Union donors. Prior to her role at UCARE, Olha served as the Director of Operations at Help Us Help, a Canadian charity, where she applied her ISO 21500 certification(UK) to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency, making a tangible difference in the lives of those served.
Olha’s leadership style is characterized by her ability to empower cross-functional teams, inspiring collaboration and innovation. Her work has significantly contributed to community development in Eastern Ukraine, creating sustainable programs that promote growth and resilience. Fluent in both English and Ukrainian, Olha is not just a leader; she is a compassionate advocate for change, dedicated to uplifting and empowering those who need it most. Her mission continues to be about creating brighter futures for vulnerable children and women in Ukraine, driving UCARE’s initiatives forward with compassion and determination.
