Marta Proctor is a dedicated leader with over 30 years of progressive experience in the public service sector. Her career choices focused on building healthy, sustainable and vibrant communities with a specific emphasis on engaging youth and populations facing marginalization. Through her career, Marta has developed a comprehensive background in successfully delivering a wide range of programs/services, managing public assets and providing leadership to diverse teams.
In addition to an extensive operational background, Marta has also led and actively contributed to numerous corporate and community strategic planning initiatives. Through this experience, Marta managed diverse project teams with broad stakeholders to include citizens, other orders of government, local not for profit agencies and the private sector.
In the spring of 2020, Marta retired from her career in the municipal sector with the interest of continuing to contribute towards positive change within the not-for-profit sector locally and globally. Since that time she has volunteered with various youth focused charities. In 2022 she accepted the position of Interim Executive Director of a Canadian charity supporting vulnerable children in Ukraine. Due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine at that time, this position required a strategic adjustment to the organization's priorities, given the sudden changes in beneficiary needs and donor investment. Since the fall of 2023, Marta has assumed the volunteer role of President with the Ukrainian Children's Aid and Relief Effort (UCARE), where she continues to guide strategic support for vulnerable children in Ukraine during tragic war conditions.
